Republican trying to spread rumors: Rudy and Hillary sitting in a tree

CNN has the story

If I'm a Republican voter (which I'm not, we're thinking in hypotheticals here) am I more concerned about Hillary Clinton becoming president or determining which candidate in my own party is the best candidate for the job? Why do these candidates think it is more important to attack Hillary Clinton and distance themselves from her and her policies? Shouldn't they be trying to convince Republican voters of their own credentials and why they would be the better candidate, not the better one to oppose Hillary in a general election?

Maybe this is my problem with politics--across both isles--being that no one really touts their own abilities and genuine ideas (or actually debates, but that is a topic for another post), but instead tend to just bashes the other politicians and think about who they would be able to beat before they even lock up a nomination.

Yes. And it's sad. Going with the Hillary Clinton-as-a-polarizing-buzzword strategy is not, as a wise and (sadly) fictional president once said, raising the level of debate in this country.

being a Republican voter and knowing many other Republican voters, we do care about the credentials of our prospective nominee. Why do you think people were so excited about Fred Thompson entering the race (even though he is an utter disappointment). However, we'd rather have anyone BUT Hillary because, well, she's crazy, controlling and her policies are either socialist or the opposite of whatever Barack Obama's policies are.

p.s. CNN is not the best media outlet to listen to when it comes to Republican anything.

I would hope people would vote for the person who fits in best with their beliefs, not who is the furthest from Hillary.

Other than speculation how is she crazy and controlling? Also many Democrats don't like her because they think he policies are too centrist, if not conservative leaning.

I used CNN as a source because in my mind, it's one of the more centrist media outlets. Using something like fox news would give me too biased of an opinion. CNN is a credible source
